Orie, My Mother-in Law
She was in charge
She lived her entire life her way
She called the shots
for so long
and kept us all in line
She kept the family together with love,
outrageously delicious food
Bringing us all together, the Glue of Togetherness
That's what she was
Fantastic conversation, quick as a whip
in any situation,
She kept us rolling and feeling
At home, REALLY at home,
The pusher of the ball, (actually, she WAS the ball)
that kept us all rolling
It is now our turn,
to keep HER ball rolling
as best it can
ROLL, ball, roll!
It's not fair
Someone who brought such happiness to others
Is now so helpless,
So dependant on us, US, it's our turn to repay
the goodness bestowed upon us
without thinking
Dear God, Can't we even do that?
Help me God, I pray, To bestow upon her a mere fraction
Of the love bestowed upon me and my peers
And fill her life with love and family now
When she needs US
God Help us in our endeavours
to do at least as much.
